Calling a guitar like this a "travel guitar" is misleading and, frankly, a little demeaning. The CoPilot is so much more! Yes, it's smaller than your average axe with its 24", 22-fret scale, super efficient, headless neck, and small yet ergonomic 6lb design, but when you're playing, none of that matters. It's just a light, fast, comfortable guitar ready to rock. In other words, this design isn't intended to be your "I guess I'll settle guitar," it's designed to be your main tool. I based it on my 25.5" scale Pilot series and developed it for a client who was looking for these specific requirements: A shorter scale daily driver that fits in compact spaces. (check out the Pilot. There is one on sale!) At its widest, the guitar is less than 12", less than 1.5" thick, strings and all, and in total about 28" long. It comes in a little gig bag that TSA won't even notice on your back! (well, they'll notice, but not gripe). This one is made from reclaimed butcherblock countertop and reclaimed maple neck (it was a table leg). The fingerboard is Richlite cut to a 20" radius with Stainless Steel frets and a zero fret. Electronics feature my custom, hand wound $2 Bill foil in the neck position and single coil P90 style next to a Guyker headless bridge system. The acrylic pickguard and back plate were made from cutoffs donated to me by a local sign shop!
