This clean build was completed by Velvet Audio about 10 years ago using all genuine Vintage Neumann parts. The enclosure is completely handmade as well. It was then serviced again by the techs at JML Studios in 2023 and works & sounds great. It is essentially a fully balanced 5 channel, stereo output summing line mixer with the nicer V-475-2A cards (2A being slightly cleaner and having better headroom than the V-475-2’s). This little mixer has a surprising amount of features including a pan for every channel, a mute switch, a headphone output with separate volume control, a master output with seperate volume control and a robust 24v PSU. It even has a headphone out, though you’ll never really use that. I’m throwing in an EXTRA headphone amp card because the one on there may Need to be recapped & sounds a bit thin so it could probably be replaced sometime down the road, though it works ok now. The mixer has no issues and every channel sounds great. Master output is dead quiet and has a quiet noise floor. This is a super cool little mixer for someone who wants a small footprint genuine Neumann line mixer! The inputs and outputs are all XLR balanced connectivity. it has a blue LED power indicator lamp and the Neumann cards were all serviced during the build for clean operation. The noise floor is super quiet as you’d expect from these vintage Neumann cards. The custom made chassis itself is in pristine condition and has hardly been used since new. Comes with proprietary power supply and cable. —- SUGGESTED PROJECT IDEA: Though the unit works fine as is, I had a really cool idea for this mixer that I never got around to so I figured I’d share it with any potential buyer: My plan for this unit, which I never got around to, was to unpack all the cards and leave the existing wiring. I wanted to then add a few more channels to it to make it either an 8-12 channel mixer. Since it already has a great summing buss, you can easily add as many more channels as you’d like! Then to greatly improve resale value, I wanted to put it in a larger, nicer more vintage looking sidecar chassis with vintage knobs, switches, faders (W444​/​544 faders would look sick) and meters Etc. I was going to add vintage Neumann BV-408 input transformers to each channel and turn it into a full-blown custom Nuemann consolette with phantom power and a highpass filter on every channel which would be worth anywhere from 5k-15k (or more) to the right buyer if done properly. Since I never got to it and have moved on from the idea I figured I’d kick this lovely project down the road… or simply give someone the opportunity to own a killer little genuine Neumann mixer, as it sits.
