The ultimate E Lam 251 clone ever made, hand built from vintage NOS Elam 251 components and modern high end parts to be the ultimate 251 money can buy. If you’re looking for a stunning studio mic no one else has that sounds as good as (better than?) a genuine E Lam 251, this is it. Here we have a custom made multi-pattern ELAM251 circuit with added features and modified PSU. Includes optional parts and instructions to further modify it to your liking. Has an internal 80Hz rumble filter switch too (which should only be toggled while unplugged to avoid damage). JML Studios has have over 200 microphones including an original C24, U47’s, U67’s Etc and this mic keeps up with them all. It‘a also better sounding than the actual 251 we have here, as well as the 251 clones we have shot out against it. 251’s are also known as very unreliable specimen from mic to mic, as they are now as old as 65 years old and notoriously do not age well Like older AKG’s and Neumann’s have. This is a one of a kind build and took over 150 hours to hand fabricate and solder. The circuit uses all high end components and the capsule is an RK-12 of the highest quality (the best CK-12 clone capsule available imo). The build includes vintage NOS foil capacitors used in the original Elam251 circuit, a custom hand wound Haufe T13​/​1 cloned transformer (also used in the Elam251), new RK-12 capsule (also the same capsule used in the C12 and Elam251), genuine Kester leaded solder and new, pure silver wiring trimmed short and clean for optimal signal to noise ratio. The build quality surpasses most manufacturers currently making boutique mics. Finally, all the resistors are high end, low-noise, 1% tolerance, and all are of premium audio grade quality. Pictured with a temporary new JJ tube which has since been replaced with a hand selected NOS vintage Telefunken tube! The JJ is also included for tube rolling and testing (always allow mic to cool down for 10 minutes before a tube swap to avoid shorts). This is an exclusive listing for a totally unique mic that will not come up again. Only 4 were ever made. Only two are offered for sale online to the public and the other is FET powered (48v phantom powered) and has a different vintage grey hammertone paint scheme (similar to a UM57 or old Neumann PSU).
