Ivy Pedals is proud to present an updated version of the X-Synth in the year 2025. Featuring updated graphic faceplates, a revised circuit, and minor cosmetic changes, the X-Synth is back on the production line! The X-Synth by Ivy pedals is a basic guitar-to-synth converter featuring input sensitivity adjustment and an analog filter. This effect can also act as a fuzz or distortion effect, and will convert almost any input signal into square waves. Audio goes in, gets converted to a square wave, sent through the filter, and out comes a synth tone! The synth output is perfectly constant in volume; any sound detected will be converted to a square​/​rectangle wave of constant amplitude. The filter allows you to shape the square wave, adding resonant peaks or smoothing off those square waves into sine waves. The 2025 X-Synth has a slightly updated 'Adjust' control knob​/​circuit, and this sets the input sensitivity for better sustain, noise, and compatibility across different guitars and​/​or pickups, pedals, buffers, and other instruments. Controls: ~Frequency - Filter frequency cutoff, it's like a tone knob, but WAY cooler! Technical Notes: This pedal uses a Schmitt Trigger for square-wave conversion​/​synth-ification, and does NOT use a PLL, digital tracking, or anything that causes delay or tracking issues. The only "digital" part of this pedal is the Schmitt Trigger, which is essentially converting the guitar into a 1-bit digital signal. It's entirely analog besides that technicality.
